in Information Security
The Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences has been a pioneer in online graduate education. It began offering online programs in 1983 and created the first electronic classroom in 1985. Since that time, it has developed other unique software tools to enhance the online learning environment. Ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the nation's top 20 cyber-universities, and listed in the Princeton Review's The Best Distance Learning Graduate Schools, the school offers about 300 online classes annually and has online students living in 47 states in the U.S. and in 25 foreign countries. The school also participates in several federal and military programs including the DANTES Distance Learning Program, and the U.S. Army's online initiative, eArmyU. Its curriculum in information security has been certified by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) for compliance with CNSS standards. The school has a chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE), the International Honor Society for Computing and Information Sciences, and a student chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the largest in Florida. Online students use the web to access course materials, announcements, email, distance library services, the Electronic Library, and other information and for interaction with faculty and fellow students. Online, interactive learning methods are used throughout the instructional sequence based on the use of WebCT as a course management system. Online activities facilitate frequent student-to-faculty and student-to-student interaction. They are supported by threaded discussion boards, white boards, chat rooms, and email. In addition, WebCT enables students to submit assignments online in multimedia formats and to receive their professors’ reviews of assignments online in the same formats. We invite you to explore our web site and seek ways in which we can help you fulfill your educational goals. Thank you for visiting our dynamic learning community. We wish you success in your graduate studies and your career!
