Dear Alumnus,
We live in changing times that require people in the computer and information sciences to continue their education in order to maintain their positions or advance their careers. The Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences is now offering you the opportunity to come back and take as many courses (online or on-campus) as you would like with no admission paperwork or fees. Normal course tuition and fees apply.
Securing cyberspace and information infrastructures is more important now than ever before. Recently the National Security Agency designated NSU as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education. This designation makes NSU part of a select group of universities across the country awarded this distinction. NSA's goal in establishing centers of academic excellence is to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education in information assurance (IA) and producing more professionals with IA expertise in various disciplines. The demand for degreed professionals in this area is growing rapidly and we have dedicated ourselves to help meet this demand.
You can now come back and get your Graduate Certificate in Information Security, which requires a total of 15 credit hours (five courses). The graduate certificates are recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA) based on its certification of the school's curriculum for compliance with the requirements of NSA national training standards NSTISSI No. 4011 (Information Systems Security Professionals) and CNSSI No. 4013 (System Administrators). As a result of this certification, the school is authorized to issue certificates to students who complete such courses, and the certificate will be noted on your official NSU transcript. Our master's graduates in CIS, MIS, or CTE can also come back to complete a concentration in information security, and our doctoral graduates in CIS and IS who completed dissertations related to information security can come back to complete a concentration in information security. Certificates will be awarded for completion of a specialization or concentration. For more information, visit http://www.infosec.nova.edu and click on Academic Programs in Information Security.
