The 2007 Commencement Ceremony was held Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at the BankAtlantic Center located in Sunrise, Florida.

Carl N. Singer - Chair of Viragen, Inc. and Fundamental Management Corporation

Carl N. Singer, you have dedicated your life to trouble-shooting, identifying problems associated with business management, and restoring financial stability to business organizations.

You are currently the chair of Viragen, Inc., as well as the founder and chair of Fundamental Management Corporation, a Florida-based institutional investment company.

Your quest for excellence began at an early age. You were an All-State basketball player and graduated valedictorian from Malden High School in Malden, Massachusetts. You attended The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, as well as Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts until you were forced to leave school due to family responsibilities and obligations.

After leaving school, a strong work ethic and business savvy enabled you to build a successful career. You have served as the president and CEO of several major organizations, including Sealy, Inc., producer of bedding and sleep products located in Chicago, Ilinois; Scripto, Inc., producer of chemical, writing instruments, lighters and accessories, located in Atlanta, Georgia; the B.V.D. Company, producer of men's and women's apparel, textiles and operator of more than 230 retail stores; and Renfield Corporation, distiller and importer of wine and spirits, located in New York.

You have shared your expertise while serving on the Board of Directors of 31 companies, including Equipment Company of America, Hialeah, Florida; Vermont Contract Furnishings Co., Rutland, Vermont; Canrad, Inc., Newark, New Jersey; Taco Viva, Inc., Pompano Beach, Florida; and Timberland Industries, Seattle, Washington.

You previously served as a Board of Trustee member at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and are currently an active member of the Friends for Life at the University of Miami, and the Renaissance Group of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. As a result of your philanthropy, you have been recognized by the Center for Medical Education at the University of Miami.

You are listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, and Who's Who International.
