How to Search NovaCat, NSU’s Library Catalog

• Go to the black navigation bar across the top, click on Electronic Resources, and then scroll to NovaCat Library Catalog

• You can search NovaCat for materials owned by the NSU libraries such as:

• Books
• Periodicals (journals, magazines, newspapers)
• Dissertations
• CD-ROMs
• Audiovisual Items
• e-Books
• Websites
• Specialty items (e.g., test kits)

• You can search by:

• Keywords
• Author
• Title
• Subject
• Numbers (e.g., Call Number, ISBN, ISSN, OCLC, Government Index)
• Course Reserves (name of instructor, course number, or ECR)
• Advanced Search (see Advanced Searching Techniques below)

• To make the search faster, you can limit your search to specific collections

• Try a few different types of searches to familiarize yourself with how NovaCat works. For example, try to find a book or a journal.
