How to Browse Electronic Databases
Browse by Name

• Now go back to any NSU library page that has the black navigation bar across the top

• Move your cursor to Electronic Resources, scroll to Databases and click on it

• Click on NSU PATRONS

• Browse by Name allows you to browse alphabetically by the name of the database. Let’s find an IEEE database. Scroll to the letter “I” and click on Get List.

• You’ll see a list of all databases whose first word starts with the letter “I”.

• Click on IEEE Computer Society Digital Library. Notice that you can enter any text, for example a specific term or the title of a paper. Alternatively, you can use the bar at the top and search for a specific author, proceedings, etc.

• In the Search For field, enter  a computer-related search term (e.g., object-oriented design), click on the Search button and see what comes up.

• Select any paper and its abstract followed by its reference list, keywords, etc. will be displayed. To see the entire article, click on the PDF icon (after the words Full Text).
