MCIS 625: Computer Graphics
Winter 2004
VIRTUAL CONFERENCES
Instructor: Dr. Michael Laszlo
Pursuant to SCIS policy, attendance is optional. Moreover, both conferences will be recorded. I will place a link to the conference logs the day after each conference is held.
For both conferences, I have reserved Seminar Place 2 (S2) of Conference Center #2.
Session Format: Each conference will consist of a lecture with accompanying slide set, followed by a question, answer, and discussion period until the end of the session. Of course, you are responsible for bringing questions and ideas to the conferences. I will try to hold the length the sessions to under an hour, but will allow them to go over if necessary.
Our conferences will be based on text and slide transfers. We will not use audio with our conferences. I have tried Placeware audio with other classes and it has not worked well for a number of reasons.
Information on Placeware's Conference Software
The software we will use for virtual conferencing is maintained by NSU's Office
of Information Technology. Begin with the Virtual
Conference Center page, which contains links to the conference centers,
to online documentation, and to other information. Make sure that your system
meets the stated requirements. Read the Audience Guide or the Quick
Start Guide for Audience Members to learn how to use the software.
