Techniques
for determining database requirements and managing organizational
data resources are examined. Strategies for designing database management
systems applications that satisfy specific requirements are presented.
Components and architecture of the relational data model are analyzed.
Methods for creating and implementing object-oriented information
systems are explored. Topics include object-oriented languages, the
user interface, databases and expert systems, distributed computing,
and the advantages and drawbacks of commercially available DBMS tools
and products.
